Afghanistan, Feb. 24 -- Officials at the Torkham crossing have stated that the border remains closed for the third consecutive day, with no movement allowed in either direction.
Hundreds of people are stranded at the crossing, and many women, children, and sick individuals are in critical condition due to the closure. The Torkham crossing connects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan to Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. The closure occurred on Saturday following a dispute over the construction of a new security post on the Afghanistan side.
