Afghanistan, April 7 -- The Ministry of Defense in a released statement on Wednesday said at least 68 Taliban insurgents were killed and 74 others were wounded in government offensive operations in the past 24 hours.

The operations were reportedly conducted in Herat, Faryab, Farah, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Kandahar provinces.

Fawad Aman, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense tweeted on Wednesday that 211 Taliban placed IEDs were also discovered and defused in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours.
