Afghanistan, Feb. 15 -- The General Prosecutor's Office of Tajikistan has announced that more than 30 individuals have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 8 to 20 years for attempting to poison participants at a festival.
According to Reuters, a security source in Tajikistan reported that all of the convicted individuals are linked to ISIS-Khorasan.
On Friday, February 14th, Tajikistan's prosecutors revealed that the defendants attempted to poison festival-goers at the Nowruz celebration last year in the city of Vahdat, located east of the capital, Dushanbe. They attempted to contaminate food served at the event with poison.
