Afghanistan, Feb. 6 -- Officials from Tajikistan's anti-drug agency have contradicted reports of reduced drug production in Afghanistan, stating that they have not seen any evidence of decreased drug trafficking into Tajikistan.

Russia's TASS news agency reported on Monday, February 5th, citing one of Tajikistan's anti-drug agency officials who said that drug trafficking from Afghanistan into Tajikistan continues unabated, with these substances being further transported to other countries through this route.

The agency mentioned that drug production has begun in hidden laboratories in Afghanistan and over 2.5 tons of drugs have been discovered in border areas of these two countries in 2023.
