Afghanistan, July 8 -- Sources in Tajikistan confirmed that the country's representative in Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) asked its allies to help them as security is worsening in parts of Afghanistan adjacent to Tajikistan.

Tajikistan president Eamoli Rahmon ordered the deployment of 20,000 reservists the border with Afghanistan on July the fifth.

Tajikistan envoy in CSTO Hasan Sultonov said that his country is having a hard time dealing with the worsening security challenges and desperately needs to be backed by its allies in the region.

Soltonov cited the 2013 resolution among the state members to be implemented and provide assistance in the border with Afghanistan.
