Afghanistan, March 11 -- The newly formed interim Syrian government has signed an agreement with the U.S.-backed Kurdish militia, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), under which the group will be integrated into both civilian and military institutions.

The agreement was signed on Monday by Syrian interim president Ahmad Shar'a and SDF commander Mazloum Abdi. It emphasizes the unity of Syria, stating that "all civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria," including border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields, will be under the control of Syria's central government.
