Afghanistan, Feb. 21 -- Sweden has advised its citizens to immediately leave Iran, citing increasing instability in the region and escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Sweden's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday warned that the situation in Iran and the surrounding region is extremely uncertain. Citizens currently in Iran are strongly urged to depart immediately.
Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard stressed that flights and border crossings remain operational but emphasized that individuals staying in Iran assume significant personal responsibility. She warned that the Swedish government may be unable to provide assistance in evacuation efforts.
