Afghanistan, July 9 -- A suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives close to a security check post in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan.
According to local officials, the incident took place earlier today in Sayedabad district of Wardak province.
Mohibullah Sharifzai, a spokesperson for the provincial government, said a suicide bomber detonated a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device closed to a security check post in Sheikhabad area of the district.
Sharifzai further added that the security forces identified the suicide bomber before he could reach his intended target and he blew the explosives up after coming under fire.
