Afghanistan, May 24 -- A small plane crashed in San Diego's military area early Thursday, causing fires and multiple casualties amid heavy fog conditions.

A small civilian aircraft crashed early Thursday morning in a military neighborhood of San Diego, resulting in multiple fatalities and significant property damage. The crash caused several homes and vehicles to catch fire.

According to Agence France-Presse, the incident occurred around 3:45 a.m. on May 22, as the plane was traveling from Kansas to Montgomery-Gibbs Airport. Thick fog is reported to have played a role in the accident.
