Afghanistan, Nov. 4 -- A large-scale study found that exposure to light during sleep increases risks of heart failure, stroke, and artery disease by over 50%.

A major study published this week found that exposure to even moderate levels of light during sleep is associated with significantly increased risks of heart failure (up to 56%), stroke (28%) and other cardiovascular diseases (32%).

Researchers analysed data from over 88,000 UK Biobank participants aged around 62 on average, tracking light exposure via wrist sensors over a week and then following health outcomes for up to 9.5 years.
