Afghanistan, Jan. 24 -- Pakistani police say six Afghan armed robbery suspects wanted in dozens of cases were killed during a gunfight with officers in Karachi on Friday.

Police said the suspects were shot dead during an intelligence-based operation targeting an armed gang involved in organised street crime and house robberies in the city.

According to police, the men had been wanted for several months and were linked to the killing of three brothers during a home robbery earlier this year.

Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, has long struggled with organised crime, including armed robberies carried out by gangs operating across multiple neighbourhoods.
