Afghanistan, Sept. 6 -- Signing of contracts between government ministries and Taliban-affiliated companies has been banned.
Hibatullah Akhundzada, Supreme leader of the Taliban has recently signed a law prohibiting government ministries and departments from entering contracts with companies affiliated with the Taliban.
Announced by the Ministry of Justice on Saturday, the law is organized into four chapters and 40 articles. It emphasizes procuring high-quality materials, fair pricing, and prioritizing reliable, trustworthy companies.
Over the past three years, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum alone has signed contracts for approximately 200 small and large mines with domestic and foreign companies, valued at around $8 billion.
