Afghanistan, Jan. 15 -- Seven people, including one woman, were sentenced in Herat to one year in prison and more than 30 lashes each.
The Taliban's Supreme Court announced that seven individuals, including one woman, were flogged in Herat province for charges including extramarital relations, sodomy, and theft.
The punishments, confirmed in a Thursday statement, took place in the districts of Adraskan, Pashtun Zarghun, and Shindand, according to the court's release.
Each of the seven individuals was sentenced to one year in prison in addition to receiving more than 30 lashes, the statement said.
