Afghanistan, Feb. 8 -- U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has stated that he will review the manner in which the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan.
Fox News reported that Austin made this comment on Friday, February 7, while speaking to Pentagon staff.
According to the U.S. Secretary of Defense, this review is aimed at holding accountable those responsible for the Afghanistan withdrawal process.
He emphasized, "Not for the purpose of revisiting, nor for revenge, but to understand what went wrong and why there was no accountability for it."
Pete Hegseth noted that the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan had created a weak image of the United States in the world.
