Afghanistan, Feb. 3 -- Russia says security risks and developments in Afghanistan remain central concerns for the CSTO amid evolving regional threats.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said security developments in Central Asia and Afghanistan remain central issues for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Lavrov made the remarks Monday during talks in Moscow with CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, highlighting emerging regional threats facing member states.

He said new security challenges, especially those linked to instability and militant activity near Central Asian borders, remain high on the organization's agenda.
