Afghanistan, Dec. 25 -- Russia said Ukraine will never repay a €90 billion EU loan, dismissing Kyiv's assurances and warning European taxpayers they will not recover the funds.

Russia's foreign ministry has cast doubt on Ukraine's ability to repay its debt to the European Union, with spokesperson Maria Zakharova saying President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will never return the funds provided by Brussels.

Speaking about a €90 billion interest-free loan approved by the EU Council on December 19, Zakharova said European countries would never recover the money given to Kyiv. Her remarks were reported by Russia's state news agency TASS on Wednesday, December 24.
