Afghanistan, Feb. 1 -- Rand Paul, the Republican senator from Kentucky, has stated that Democratic members of the U.S. Senate have consistently opposed halting aid to Afghanistan. Since the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country, approximately $3.3 billion in assistance has been sent to Afghanistan.

On Friday, January 31, Paul posted a message on X, previously Twitter, expressing that he had attempted several times to stop financial aid to Afghanistan but faced resistance from Democrats. According to the senator, a portion of this aid has ended up in the hands of the Taliban.
