Afghanistan, Jan. 22 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will meet Trump's envoy to discuss frozen Russian assets and possible funding for post-war reconstruction efforts.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said he plans to meet Steve Witkoff, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, as well as Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law.
Reuters reported on Thursday that Putin will discuss the possible use of frozen Russian assets to help rebuild areas damaged by war, according to people familiar with the matter.
The report said Putin is also expected to hold talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on the potential use of those assets.
