Afghanistan, Dec. 3 -- Russia has accepted elements of a U.S. peace proposal and signalled readiness for further talks, the Kremlin said, though major disagreements remain unresolved.
The Kremlin said on Wednesday that President Vladimir Putin has accepted parts of a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, in what appears to be the most significant opening toward renewed diplomacy since the conflict began.
Reuters reported that Moscow is prepared to hold further talks with U.S. negotiators, though Russian officials cautioned that discussions remain preliminary and no final agreement has been reached.
