Afghanistan, Feb. 17 -- Health officials warn protecting children from polio through vaccination remains a religious and humanitarian duty as cases persist in vulnerable Afghan communities.
The organization Polio-Free Afghanistan stressed that protecting children from polio is both a religious obligation and a humanitarian responsibility for families.
In a statement released Tuesday, the group warned that polio permanently paralyzes children and can affect them for life if vaccination campaigns are ignored.
