Afghanistan, Nov. 13 -- Iraq's parliamentary elections saw the Prime Minister-led coalition take the lead, with voter turnout at 55 percent amid tight security and partial political boycotts.

Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Wednesday that the coalition led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has taken the lead in the parliamentary elections, securing more than 1.3 million votes.

Iraqi citizens voted on Tuesday under tight security, with one major political bloc boycotting the election. Authorities reported a 55 percent turnout among registered voters.
