Afghanistan, Oct. 14 -- A new polio vaccination campaign will start next week in Afghanistan's Kunar, Nuristan, and Laghman provinces to immunize children and strengthen public health efforts.
The "Polio-Free Afghanistan" initiative announced on Tuesday that a new round of polio vaccinations will begin next week across the eastern provinces of Kunar, Nuristan, and Laghman.
In a statement, the organization said the campaign will cover multiple districts and aims to reach thousands of children under the age of five.
The vaccination drive will include both injectable and oral doses to boost children's immunity against the poliovirus, which remains endemic in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
