Afghanistan, Feb. 9 -- Health officials in Pakistan have reported that the WPV1 strain of the poliovirus has been detected in 21 different regions across the country. The discovery has raised serious concerns about the ongoing spread of the virus.

According to health authorities, the samples were collected from 21 villages in various regions, including Muzaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, East Karachi, Charsadda, and Peshawar. These samples were tested at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Pakistan.
