The Government of Pakistan has officially announced that it will begin deporting Afghan refugees holding expired temporary residence cards starting from September 1, 2025.

This decision was finalized during a high-level meeting held earlier this week as part of the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP), a national strategy aimed at addressing illegal migration, citing security concerns and increasing pressure on national resources.
