Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised his country's military for launching strikes against the Taliban and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions inside Afghanistan, saying Islamabad will defend its sovereignty "under all circumstances."
In a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office late Wednesday, Sharif expressed concern over Taliban and TTP movements along the border regions and commended the army's "decisive response" to what he called "provocative acts by Afghan Taliban fighters."
