Afghanistan, Feb. 17 -- Pakistani media has reported that the police, in response to the growing insecurity in the country, have warned Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, that the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) intends to assassinate him.
The Express Tribune newspaper reported on Monday, February 17 that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police issued a security advisory to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, urging him to enhance his security measures and limit his movements.
According to the report, "Sources informed the police that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) intend to target Maulana Fazlur Rehman due to his involvement in religious and political activities."
