Afghanistan, Sept. 12 -- Deadly floods in Pakistan have displaced over two million people and killed more than 900, with authorities warning numbers may rise as relief operations struggle to cope.
Pakistan's devastating floods have forced the evacuation of more than two million people in Punjab, with authorities warning that the scale of the crisis could worsen. In Sindh province, another 150,000 people were displaced, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The NDMA chief, Inam Haider Malik, told reporters on Thursday that officials remain on high alert as river levels continue to rise. He cautioned that the number of displaced families could grow as floodwaters spread further into vulnerable districts.
