Afghanistan, Dec. 1 -- Pakistani authorities have escalated arrests and expulsions of Afghan journalists, leaving many at imminent risk of deportation to Afghanistan amid halted visa renewals.

Pakistan's tightening crackdown on Afghan refugees has increasingly placed journalists at the centre of its enforcement drive, the Afghanistan Media Support Organisation (AMSO) warned on Sunday. The group said the latest arrest involved Afghan journalist Hamoon Khamosh, who was detained in Islamabad along with his family.
