Afghanistan, March 9 -- The Pakistani military announced that three members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a security forces operation in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military also stated that a significant amount of weapons and ammunition were seized from the militants during the operation.

The Pakistan Army's Public Relations Office stated that the operation took place early on Saturday, March 8, in the Tank area near the Afghanistan's border. The militants killed in the operation were referred to as "Khawarij" by the military. In October, the Pakistan Army officially declared the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan as "Fitna-al-Khawarij."
