Afghanistan, April 25 -- The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations Affairs reports that over 5,000 Afghan migrants returned to the country after expulsion from Pakistan and Iran.

On Thursday, the ministry announced that 5,360 migrants from Iran and 481 from Pakistan entered the country after forced deportation.

According to the ministry, between the 22nd and 25th of April, migrants entered the country after expulsion via the Islam Qala and Torkham borders of Nangarhar province.

The Ministry of Migrants Affairs disclosed the return of migrants from Iran amidst a recent surge in expulsions of Afghan migrants from Iran and particularly Pakistan in recent months.
