Afghanistan, Oct. 22 -- North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles on Wednesday, its first such test in months, prompting Seoul to boost military readiness and coordination.

South Korea's military said on Wednesday that North Korea has launched several short-range ballistic missiles - its first such test in nearly five months.

According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the launches coincided with preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and come ahead of a possible visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to Seoul.
