Afghanistan, Sept. 2 -- Pakistan reports a new polio case in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing the total to 24 this year, highlighting urgent need for vaccination, especially in high-risk southern districts.

Pakistan's National Health Services reported a new polio case in Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), on September 1, 2025. This brings the nationwide total to 24 confirmed cases for the year, with 16 cases in KP, six in Sindh, and one each in Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan .

The latest case involves a 20-month-old child from southern KP's Tank district. This marks the 14th polio case reported from southern KP this year, highlighting the region's ongoing vulnerability despite vaccination efforts .
