Afghanistan, May 20 -- Nearly 300 Afghan migrants were released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan, despite holding legal documents at the time.
The Taliban's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced that 286 Afghan migrants have been freed from various prisons across Pakistan. These individuals were reportedly detained despite possessing valid documentation. The Ministry stated that the detainees were returned to Afghanistan on Sunday, May 18, 2025. According to the Ministry's statement, the detainees had spent between one and several days in Pakistani jails.
