Afghanistan, April 3 -- NATO has pledged over $21 billion in military aid to Ukraine for 2025, with further discussions set for this week.
On Wednesday, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that NATO members have committed to providing over $21 billion in military aid to Ukraine by the first half of 2025. NATO foreign ministers are meeting in Brussels on Thursday and Friday to discuss further support for Ukraine against Russia.
The new financial support from NATO comes amid growing concerns in Europe about the U.S.'s role in financing the war. The U.S. has urged NATO members to take on a larger share of the financial burden of the Ukraine war, given fears that its proximity to Russia may lead to reduced U.S. support for Ukraine.
