Afghanistan, Feb. 5 -- Mujahid rejects UN Security Council concerns, saying ISIS was defeated in Afghanistan and has moved to neighboring countries amid ongoing regional tensions.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid rejected concerns raised at the UN Security Council about ISIS presence in Afghanistan, calling the claims unfounded.
In a statement, Mujahid said ISIS had been defeated inside Afghanistan and now operates in neighboring countries rather than within Afghanistan territory.
He argued that concerns emerge because Taliban representatives are absent from UN meetings, allowing some countries to present what he called inaccurate accounts of Afghanistan's security situation.
