Afghanistan, July 30 -- More than 60,000 people have been killed and over 145,000 injured in Gaza, according to local health officials, as the humanitarian crisis worsens.

Gaza's Health Ministry announced Tuesday that the death toll from Israeli attacks in the enclave has reached 60,034, with 145,870 others injured since the conflict began.

The ministry said more than half of those killed were women and children, noting that at least 1,860 infants under two were killed last month alone.

At the same time, a global hunger monitoring system warned that the "worst-case famine scenario" is unfolding in Gaza, raising urgent humanitarian alarms.
