Afghanistan, June 26 -- More than 30,000 Afghan migrants returned from Iran in one day, driven by deportations and harsh policies, facing severe hardship upon arrival.

Taliban-controlled media reported that more than 30,000 Afghan refugees returned home from Iran yesterday, crossing into Herat after a sharp increase in deportations.

The Bakhtar News Agency, under Taliban oversight, cited local officials who confirmed that the returning Afghans had faced increasing pressure in Iran before deciding to leave.

This surge in returns follows heightened tensions between Iran and Afghanistan, prompting Iranian authorities to tighten migration policies and forcibly deport thousands of Afghans.
