Afghanistan, July 2 -- Missiles were fired in southern Israel, triggering immediate air defense activation. Sirens sounded as residents took shelter; no casualties reported yet.

On Tuesday night, two rockets were launched from the southern Gaza Strip toward southern Israel, prompting the activation of the country's air defense system, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Sirens were heard in several residential neighborhoods near the Gaza border, and residents rushed to shelters as the Iron Dome system attempted to intercept the projectiles.

So far, no casualties or property damage have been reported, and Israeli authorities continue to assess the impact of the incident.
