Afghanistan, April 8 -- The Ministry of defense in a released statement on Thursday said at least 31 Taliban fighters were killed in five districts of Kandahar province.
MoD stated, that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces backed by air support launched offensive operations in Arghandab, Zherai, Shahwalikot, and Maiwand districts of Kandahar province.
The operations resulted in 31 Taliban militants killed and further 19 others were reported wounded.
Some of weapons and ammunition belonging to the Taliban were also destroyed.
The Ministry of Defense also stated, that ANA's engineering team discovered and defused 69 landmines planted by the Taliban insurgents.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regards.
