Afghanistan, Oct. 20 -- Iran reopened the Milak border crossing with Afghanistan, resuming trade and fuel exports after resolving a months-long dispute over fuel quality and import regulations.
The Milak crossing on Iran's eastern frontier was reopened on Sunday, Sistan-and-Baluchestan provincial governor Ali-Reza Shahraki announced. The border had been closed after imported fuel tankers were held up in Afghanistan following a change in regulatory standards.
Shahraki did not specify how many days the crossing had been shuttered. He said discussions with Kabul officials had resolved the issue, and the stranded Iranian tankers would now be cleared and returned.
