The international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps has warned that seven million residents of Kabul face a critical water shortage crisis. If current trends continue, the city could experience complete drought by 2030.
Dayne Curry, Mercy Corps' Afghanistan director, emphasized the urgent need for global attention, stating, "The absence of water means communities will be forced to leave. Without intervention, large-scale migration and increased hardship will follow for the people of Afghanistan."
