Afghanistan, May 3 -- Media freedom violations in Afghanistan have surged by 58%, with increased arrests, threats, and restrictions imposed by the ruling authorities.

The Afghanistan Journalists Center (AFJC) and Reporters Without Borders (RSF) have reported a dramatic decline in press freedom in Afghanistan over the past year. According to their latest findings, violations against media outlets and journalists have risen by 58% compared to the previous year.
