Afghanistan, Feb. 10 -- Michael McCaul, the former Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, has called on Donald Trump to lift the suspension of the refugee resettlement programs for Afghan nationals who worked with the U.S. government in Afghanistan. He urged Trump to provide these former Afghan allies with resettlement in the United States.

Last month, Trump signed an executive order halting the U.S. refugee resettlement program and suspending the processing of asylum applications across all visa categories. This decision has left many Afghan nationals who worked with the U.S. government in a state of uncertainty.
