Afghanistan, July 3 -- Faiq urged Iran to reconsider its mass deportation of Afghan migrants, warning it could trigger a humanitarian and security crisis in the country.

The government of Afghanistan has called on Iran to immediately reconsider its decision to forcibly deport Afghan migrants, particularly former military personnel. The appeal was made by Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, July 2, Faiq stressed that deportations must be carried out with full respect for human dignity and in line with international human rights principles.
