Following Russia's formal recognition of the Taliban government, the group has officially requested to purchase military equipment from Moscow. According to a report published by the Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta on Thursday, July 11, the request was made in a letter signed by Taliban Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob.
