Afghanistan, Nov. 8 -- Japan has sent emergency relief supplies, including blankets and mattresses, to support survivors of the recent deadly earthquake in northern Afghanistan.

The Japanese Embassy in Kabul announced on Saturday that emergency aid from Japan had arrived in Afghanistan and would soon be distributed to quake-affected northern provinces.

According to the embassy's statement on X, the shipment includes essential relief items such as blankets and mattresses for families who lost their homes in the 6.3-magnitude quake.

The supplies were handed over to the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for coordinated distribution.
