Afghanistan, Feb. 13 -- Indian comedian Rajpal Yadav jailed in Delhi over unpaid film debt, while colleagues mobilize support as court reviews his bail request today.

Rajpal Yadav was transferred to Tihar Jail after failing to repay financial obligations linked to a film investment, triggering prolonged legal proceedings.

The case dates back to a 2010 comedy production financed partly by Yadav, which underperformed commercially, leaving debts unpaid despite several attempts through issued bank cheques.

A Delhi trial court convicted him in 2018, later upheld by the Delhi High Court. Bail granted in 2024 required repayment, which remained unsettled through late 2025.
