Afghanistan, Aug. 13 -- Israeli strikes on Gaza killed 73, including 19 aid workers, in 24 hours as blockade-driven hunger and destruction deepen a crisis that has claimed over 61,000 lives.

At least 73 Palestinians, including 19 aid workers, were killed in intensified Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, Gaza's Health Ministry reported.

The ministry confirmed that two more Palestinians, including a six-year-old child, died from hunger linked to Israel's blockade. This brings the death toll from malnutrition to 227, among them 103 children.

Funerals were held for five Al Jazeera journalists killed in the attacks, while protests condemning the violence took place in London, Berlin, and Tunis.
