Afghanistan, April 22 -- The former Israeli ambassador accused Pope Francis of anti-Semitism, comparing him to Pope Pius XII, and urged a funeral boycott.
In a recent interview with Israeli media outlet Maariv, former Israeli Ambassador to Italy, Dror Eydar, accused the late Pope Francis of anti-Semitism. Dror called for the Israeli government to refrain from attending the funeral of the deceased Catholic leader.
Dror argued that Pope Francis was comparable to Pope Pius XII, who led the Catholic Church from 1939 to 1958 and was criticized for his silence during the Holocaust. According to him, Pope Francis' actions were similarly damaging, fueling anti-Semitic sentiments worldwide.
