Afghanistan, March 20 -- The Israeli army resumed ground operations in Gaza, aiming to expand control in central and southern areas after deadly airstrikes.

On Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the resumption of limited ground operations in the central and southern Gaza Strip to expand its buffer zone. This follows a deadly airstrike on Gaza that resulted in the deaths of over 400 Palestinians the day before.

Local health workers reported that at least 48 people were killed on the second day of Israel's air campaign. The casualties continue to rise as the conflict intensifies.
